With this series I have painted areas that are close to me and my life in Cumbria but overlooked by the masses. They are slices of winter life in a rural setting. As with other work these paintings have been built up in layers and a bold impasto style that reflects my desire to connect with the environment. These paintings are all complete with beautiful handmade frames - leading the eye into the work.
