This series of paintings is developed from an early start walking the Kentmere Horseshoe. The early morning light and mist in the valley features heavily as it was such a distinguishing feature that contributed to the atmosphere of the hills that day
Often a feature of my work as I engage with the physical process of mark-making, the impasto paint layered wet on wet is also to create expression, depth and connection with the landscape I am immersed in. These paintings are all complete with beautifully handmade, deep, scooped and hand-painted white wooden frames - leading the eye into the work. Signed by me on the front - and all labelled on the reverse these are ready to hang
