SILVERDALE COAST series
I have lived in or around the Kent Estuary area of the South Lakes for nearly 20 years and it has been in that time that my work has moved from looking primarily at the human figure as a fine art undergraduate to painting the landscape. It is the ever changing light and shifting tides and sands that inspires me time and time again to walk and study and paint this evocative place. Walking along the coast and across the rocks at Silverdale in the evenings coming back from the studio over the longer late spring and early summer days has led to this small series of 6 paintings... but I have included here also a couple of larger paintings that overlap with the SUNSET series. These extra 2 paintings capture the evening light from these very same coastal walks
These paintings are all complete with beautifully handmade, scooped and hand-painted white wooden frames - with the 2 larger works in their own chunkier blue-grey profile. But all lead the eye into the work. Signed by me on the front - and all labelled on the reverse these are ready to hang
