STORM CLOUDS series
Since living in the Lakes and for most of that time in and around the area of the Kent Estuary - my work has been heavily influenced by the landscape of the sands and tides of Morecambe Bay. The ever changing light and flow is a constant source of inspiration that I turn to again and again - despite travels in other parts of the world
This series was initially inspired with the desire to capture some of the drama of a set of storm clouds passing along the estuary at a time I was sitting having a coffee on what was otherwise a beautiful summer afternoon. Making some quick sketches and then developing the series in the studio - the paintings have developed into X2 triptychs, aswell as X4 small paintings. As with other work these paintings have been built up in layers 'wet on wet' and then finished with a bold impasto style that reflects my desire to connect with the painting and the environment. This series also continues a NEW size of canvas recently introduced and referred to as Small/ Medium. The triptych attached using this size were all painted during online ZOOM demo sessions
These paintings are all complete with beautiful handmade, and hand-painted grey or blue-grey frames - leading the eye into the work. Signed by me on the front - and all labelled on the reverse these are all ready to hang
