Over Hartsop Dodd by Brothers Water... this series of paintings is developed from an Easter weekend walk surrounded by - what was for the English lakes - an unusual and almost cloudless sky
Often a feature of my work as I engage with the physical process of mark-making, the impasto paint layered wet on wet is also to create expression, depth and connection with the landscape I am immersed in. These paintings are all complete with beautifully handmade, deep, scooped and hand-finished lime washed wooden frames - leading the eye into the work. Signed by me on the front - and all labelled on the reverse these are ready to hang
